How To Commission

The first step to commissioning me for your project is to send a quick inquiry using the form below. Simply describe your project and let me know when you’d like it completed. I usually need at least 30 days notice but don’t let that stop you from reaching out!

Next, I’ll respond within 24 hours asking for photos and approximate dimensions. After you send those, I’ll be able to give you a cost estimate and we will figure out a design and schedule that works for you. Easy enough, right?

Process of ordering a custom painting:

Initial Consultation: Discuss the vision for the artwork, including themes, subject matter, and any specific requests, and establish a timeline for the completion of the artwork.
Choosing Dimensions: Select the size of the painting, based on available dimensions or custom requests.
Medium Selection: Decide on the type of paint or medium (e.g., oil, acrylic, mixed media).
Quotation: Receive a price estimate based on the size, medium, and complexity of the painting.
Design Fee: Pay any initial design or concept fees (if applicable) for mock-ups or sketches.
Payment Terms: Discuss payment methods and timelines (e.g., deposit, final payment upon completion).
Revisions & Feedback: Allow for rounds of revisions or adjustments to the concept (usually charged by the hour if extensive)
Complete the Painting & Receive Monthly Updates: Regular updates on the painting’s progress will be shared, typically on a monthly basis, to ensure transparency and provide opportunities for feedback.
Framing Options: Order Framing, From Picture Frame Gallery, choose any framing preferences or receive the artwork unframed.
Delivery and Installation: Arrange for the painting to be delivered and installed (if required, with additional costs).
Additional Add-Ons: Consider add-ons like canvas prints or merchandise based on the custom painting.
